I spent my valentines day waiting on people while they had their valentines days and so I smiled and brought them lots of wine and a four-course meal, and they gave me lots of money! So, all in all, it was great and I did manage to eat, like, ten thousand chocolate truffles. When I got home, I called my Valentine to say goodnight, and then I took a late-night bath while drinking a beer and reading newsweek. oh-so-fabulous a combination. well, that's all for now. ps- yay walt!

after what livejournal has informed me was an 89 week absence, I am posting on good ol' lj. livejournal seems so quaint, don't you think, compared to facebook and myspace? but also charming. simple. well, it still has it's uses, i think. i still read it every other day or so to see what jen, scott, anton, walt and a couple others have to say. oh, and robyn! i love reading robyn's updates--what exciting changes! i also love reading about the crazy kids that mari and jen preside over. i love scott's short bursts of entries, always passionate. well, i'll try to be better about writing here.

here's a few sentence-long life update: i've finally graduated with a BA in film studies. i live in berkeley with laurel and stacy in what i think is a kick-ass apartment, and enjoy weekend conjugal visits from my partner, Nicholas. i think everyone who i reading this already knows all these things, but it seems right to do this kind of update when returning from a long absence (again, 89 weeks). i'm a waitress at a restaurant, and lately i've been saying waitress rather than server because i think it's sexier. i like my life right now, but am feeling the pull of the future...i need to make use of my education and passions and get a film job, i suppose. i hate writing cover letters for jobs, but i won't complain about that here. i'm turning 23 in about 2 weeks.

i fuckin hate how they broadcast the gymnastics results all over the damn news before it's even aired on tv because fuckin nbc wants to wait to air it during primetime, even though everyone who cares probably couldnt avoid the persistent headlines that such and such a country won gold, silver etc., and therefore cannot watch with any feeling of suspense. last night, i got to lord my superior knowledge over nicholas and walter when they were watching the mens finals, but a fat lot of satisfaction that gave me...NOT! i just want to be ignorant and silly and caught up in the excitement of it all and fuckin nbc is stealing that joy from me!

i just read my journal from 10th and 11th grade. (as opposed to studying for biological anthropology) i cant believe how much i hated myself. and how much i hated having tiny breasts. and how much i hated my face. and were not talking "dislike." were talking very explicit and articulated hate. i almost (but, of course, not at all) wish i could do high school over again with more self esteem, and perhaps i would have enjoyed the experience a bit more. or perhaps high school quite effectively drains any existing self esteem from a person. perspective...i suppose that is what i was lacking most of all. perspective, and big tits, that is.

to begin with, this morning, as i drink my coffee and clumsily shovel honey nut cheerios into my mouth, there are two livejournal moments that make me laugh through my sweet milky cheerios and drip down my chin.

1. erithefabulous in her most recent entry wrote that there was a "wacky emoment" at coachella. that word "emoment" is immensely funny, and ive never heard it before.

2. smilepretty, posting a comment on passionless' livejournal, wrote, re: 5 de mayo party, that we should "move it down south. more authentic." that was also very funny.
